Turning cultural excursions on holidays into experiences

Bregenz is transformed into a breathtaking setting that attracts visitors from all over the world to Lake Constance every year in July and August. The Bregenz Festival is as unique as it is artistic and offers an annual experience that visitors never forget. Visitors should acquaint themselves with the Bodensee-Vorarlberg region and all its other highlights to round off their trip to the festival.

The first and foremost to mention would be the boat tours. Right before a visit to the Bregenz Festival, the ships MS Österreich, Hohentwiel and the Vorarlberg Lines offer culinary boat trips. But moreover, a boat trip across Lake Constance to neighbouring Switzerland or to one of the German islands of Lindau, Reichenau or Mainau is recommended too. The current exhibition also attracts visitors to the renowned Kunsthaus Bregenz during the festival season. A walk at the Rhine estuary or a visit to the Rappenlochschlucht (gorge) are ideal for nature enthusiasts. And visitors who are not that much into hiking but do want to experience the fantastic views across Lake Constance may get to enjoy the full splendour of the vistas by taking the Karren (Dornbirn) and the Pfänderbahn cable cars (Bregenz).
