Every July and August, Bregenz transforms into a breathtaking backdrop that attracts visitors from all over the world to Lake Constance. For decades, the Bregenz Festival has captivated audiences with unique productions and unforgettable open-air experiences.

In 2026, everything revolves around a special anniversary: 80 years of the Bregenz Festival. To mark this milestone, visitors can look forward to special program highlights – including a large-scale open-air exhibition in the lakeside parks of Bregenz and the “Singalong by the Lake” on August 1, 2026. On this occasion, the lake stage itself will become a vibrant musical experience as singing enthusiasts from across the Lake Constance region come together to perform famous opera choruses.

In addition to the lake stage, the festival offers an extended program at the Festspielhaus and other venues.

First and foremost, there is the boat experience. As a warm-up for a visit to the festival, the MS Österreich, the Hohentwiel, and Vorarlberg Lines offer special opera and festival cruises with culinary accompaniment. A boat trip across Lake Constance to neighbouring Switzerland or to one of the German islands, Lindau, Reichenau, or Mainau, is also highly recommended.

During the festival season, exciting exhibitions also attract visitors to the renowned Kunsthaus Bregenz and the vorarlberg museum.
