  • From the first night: From your first night’s stay: As an overnight guest (i.e. including business travellers and conference attendees), you will receive the Guest Card for explorer at a participating accommodation provider, provided you are liable to pay tourist tax. Those exempt from tourist tax will not receive a guest card. The guest card is valid for the entire duration of your stay.
  • Conscious Discovery: By using public transportation, you contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and easing traffic congestion.
  • Valid guest card: Use of the service requires the guest to present a valid guest card, either via the activated guest card in the Romi app or by means of the printed guest card form.

How to Obtain Your Guest Card for Explorers:

As a guest, you will receive your guest card either digitally or in physical format.

  • Digital on Your Smartphone:

With the digital version, depending on your accommodation, you will automatically receive an email containing a link to the “Romi” web app up to two weeks before your arrival. Once you have registered, you must activate your digital guest card in the web app – otherwise you will not have a valid travel pass! The guest card is displayed as a QR code and is valid for immediate use on buses and trains – in some cases even on the day of arrival. You can also use your guest card offline if you save the “Romi” web app, which contains the guest card, on your smartphone. Please check with your accommodation to see if the technical requirements are met to receive the guest card before your arrival.

  • Printed Card

If you do not own a smartphone or prefer not to use the digital solution, you will receive your guest card as a printed version on a special card (a blank card template) directly at your accommodation. Please note that a printout on regular paper will not be accepted.
