This short hike is well suited to families, walkers and anyone who would prefer to reach the wildlife park on foot.
The walk starts at the car park by the level crossing between Levis and Altenstadt. From here, the Rheintalblickweg climbs directly towards Ardetzenberg.
The route follows wide gravel tracks and is generally easy to walk. Along the way, there are frequent views over Feldkirch, the Rhine Valley and the River Rhine. Woodland sections alternate with more open stretches, adding variety to the short climb.
After around half an hour, you reach Wildpark Feldkirch, which is home to more than 160 animals representing 26 species. There is also a playground, a kiosk and a number of places to take a break. You can combine your visit to the wildlife park with a longer walk or return downhill later along the same route.
Getting to the starting point
We recommend starting at the level crossing between Feldkirch-Levis and Altenstadt. From here, the Rheintalblickweg leads directly up to Wildpark Feldkirch.
By public transport
Bus stop at the start: Altenstadt Bahnhof or Feldkirch Amberg
Bus stop at the destination: There is no bus stop directly at the wildlife park. For the return journey, use Altenstadt Bahnhof or Feldkirch Amberg again.
Railway station: Feldkirch railway station or Feldkirch Amberg railway station. From Feldkirch railway station, take a local bus towards Altenstadt and alight at Altenstadt Bahnhof or Altenstadt Heimatweg. The starting point is around a ten-minute walk from Feldkirch Amberg railway station.

By car
Take the A14 to Feldkirch, then continue towards Levis/Altenstadt as far as the level crossing. Parking is available by the level crossing, which serves as the starting point for the walk.
For this hike, we recommend appropriate equipment: comfortable footwear with good grip, clothing suited to the weather, sun and rain protection, sufficient drinking water, a small snack if required, a mobile phone, etc.
The route follows wide gravel tracks and access roads. Individual sections may be slippery in wet weather, snow or ice. Please stay on the marked route and allow sufficient time for the climb.
Those walking with children or using a pushchair should take the ascent at a more relaxed pace. The rules displayed on site apply within the wildlife park. Dogs must be kept on a short lead.

Refreshments and rest stops:
Wildpark Feldkirch has a kiosk as well as seating and places to stop and rest. Along the ascent, there are several spots with views over the Rhine Valley where you can pause briefly.
Families and the wildlife park:
The walk is well suited to families with children. The route is generally suitable for pushchairs, although an all-terrain pushchair is more practical. The wildlife park has animal enclosures, a large playground and a barbecue area. Please bring your own firewood or charcoal for the barbecue area.

Wildpark Feldkirch is open all year round. Admission is by voluntary donation.
