Visitors are cordially invited to view and marvel at the more than 800 prized radios, gramophones and street organs at the Radio Museum in the town of Lustenau. Dating from 1890 to 1975, the exhibits follow developments beginning with the first radio receivers used in Vorarlberg, and leading up to today’s modern sound machines. Brandnames of these appliances include Philips, Grundig, Blaupunkt, Jura, Minerva, Braun, and Bang & Olufsen, and several long-forgotten producers.
For over 20 years the museum’s founder Herbert Rauch has been collecting and repairing electronic appliances and gadgets from around the world. When he ran out of space in his own home, he decided to make his passion for technology accessible to the public. In 1999 Rauch’s Radio Museum was opened. In 2017 the museum moved to the more spacious premises at Hofsteigstrasse 21.
