Berggasse Hiking Trail: Ways into Wildpark Feldkirch

This short walk leads from Ardetzenbergstraße up the historic Berggasse to Wildpark Feldkirch. Cobbled roads, quiet woodland sections and a steady ascent characterise the route. Walking to the wildlife park is environmentally friendly and leaves its parking spaces free for visitors who rely on them.

The walk starts on Ardetzenbergstraße. Follow the road uphill to the first junction, where the route turns onto an ascending cobbled road.

At the next junction, turn right into Berggasse. This quiet road climbs steadily before eventually entering a shady stretch of woodland. After leaving the woods, the route reaches Schallerhofstraße, which leads to Wildpark Feldkirch.

The predominantly surfaced route is suitable for keen walkers, active people, fit older people and children aged eight and over. A basic level of fitness is required because of the continuous ascent.

We recommend travelling to the starting point by public transport. The start of the route on Ardetzenbergstraße is within walking distance of Feldkirch railway station.

By car

Take the A14 Rheintal/Walgau motorway to the Feldkirch-Nord exit. From there, continue via Bärenkreuzung and Reichsstraße towards Feldkirch railway station and then on to Ardetzenbergstraße.

A valid motorway vignette is required when travelling on the motorway.

Parking

Parking is available along Mutterstraße and Ardetzenbergstraße. Please observe the parking regulations displayed on site. As the parking spaces at the wildlife park are particularly important for visitors using wheelchairs or pushchairs, walking there is recommended.

For this walk, we recommend bringing suitable equipment: a walking rucksack, sturdy, comfortable footwear, clothing appropriate for the weather, trekking poles if required, sun and rain protection, food and sufficient drinking water, a first-aid kit, a mobile phone, etc.

Parts of the route follow roads used by local traffic. Take particular care at junctions and in places where visibility is restricted.

The cobbled and uphill sections may be slippery in wet weather, snow or icy conditions. The walk should be adapted to the weather and your personal level of fitness. You undertake the walk at your own risk.
