Accessible Mobility

The railway stations in the Bodensee–Vorarlberg destination are accessible. City buses in Bregenz, Dornbirn, Feldkirch and Bludenz, as well as most regional buses, are equipped with extendable ramps and can therefore be used by wheelchair users and people with temporary mobility limitations.

Through the Mobility Service Centre of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), you can make reservations and request assistance for boarding and alighting, as well as book tickets and reserve wheelchair or accessible seating. Support services and equipment, such as lifting devices, can also be arranged to assist with getting on and off the train.

The scheduled ships of Vorarlberg Lines are accessible. However, depending on the vessel, there may be some limitations on excursion cruises.

The MS Sonnenkönigin is equipped with a lift that allows people with mobility impairments to access the upper decks. On the other ships, the main deck is generally accessible.

The city of Dornbirn offers the possibility to rent a specially equipped vehicle suitable for transporting wheelchair users. The vehicle is fitted with a wheelchair ramp or lift as well as appropriate securing systems inside to ensure safe and comfortable transport – without the need to leave the wheelchair.
