Birdwatching Rheindelta

Birdwatching

The Vorarlberg Rhine delta is known far across borders as a hotspot for ‘twitchers’, i.e. birdwatchers. Whooper swans look like snow-white ships from a distance – one of many attractions that the Bodensee-Vorarlberg region has in store for tourists wishing to enjoy nature. The Rhine Delta with its shallow water zones and the many different species of bird that can be seen here both in summer and winter attracts many (hobby) ornithologists and journalists from across Europe. And the Hotel am See in Hard is where they get together. And the place for visitors to be provided with bicycles and binoculars. A specially developed ‘BirdsClub-App’ assists in identifying the birds sighted and in searching for promising observation points. It also presents additional hiking and cycling trails.
