Saving the past for the future. This basic motto accompanies the visitor during the tour through the captivating exhibits in the Fire Department Oldtimer Museum in the town of Hard on Lake Constance. Supplementing this comprehensive collection of fire-fighting equipment and implements,
exhibited by the local fire department in Hard, all of its former fire engines and other vehicles are presented in their finest condition – ready for use, if need be.
The museum provides a retrospective view of almost 70 years of motorized fire department history. But the oldtimers are not only kept as museum inventory; they are also used in events at home and abroad, and are displayed and operated at weddings and other celebrations.
