High mountain route to the highest summit of Vorarlberg, the Piz Buin (3,312 m)

Climbing Piz Buin, at an elevation of 3,312m the highest peak in Vorarlberg, is an alpine high mountain route and only possible with a rope team. The route leads from the Wiesbadener Hut over the crevassed Ochsentaler Glacier and includes easy but partly exposed climbing to the scenic summit. An overnight stay at the Wiesbadener Hut is recommended.

Coming from Bludenz, take the S16 towards Wald am Arlberg (Klostertal) up to Wald am Arlberg (Sonnenkopfbahn).

Public transport

We recommend arriving by public transport. With bus line 650 you can get from Schruns to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe.

Parking

Equipment

A backpack with sufficient drinks and food (also glucose, muesli bars), hiking poles, warm clothing, cap/headband, and gloves is recommended. Sunglasses and sun protection should definitely also be in the backpack.

High mountain equipment (rope, ice axe, crampons) is required.
